In 1966, racial tension was at an all time high and after hundreds of years of terror. A group called The Black Panther Party drew a line in the sand. The basis was Self Defense. They planned to exercise their constitutional rights and more specifically the rights granted by the 2nd Amendment. This right gave citizens the power to form a well regulated militia to protect the security of a free state and also granted the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

This painting also shows in the shades of the subject the actions the led to his decision. Now the question is, “Was his response extreme?”

A member of K.A. Williams II “SACRIFICE” Series this print is the first of many historical releases by the man known to the world as WAK. This magnificient Limited Edition Giclee features the victims of the 16th Street Church Bombing in Birmingham in 1963. It comes signed, numbered, and hand embellished by the artist. Read below as WAK describes in his own words the symbolism used in this piece:

“4 Angels takes the viewer down the tough road of forgiveness. The X in front of the number 4 represents this little girl multiplied by 4 which is the total number of victims that were murdered during this event. It is followed by 4 GIVE above the head of Christ featured in the stained glass window donated by the citizens of Cardiff, Wales after the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. The 4 crosses symbolize the sacrifice & the souls of the 4 Angels. 1963 was the year this world changing tragedy took place. The Lord’s Prayer is also featured as one of the collages in this piece. This prayer is one that we say as children but should be lived as a adults as a true testimony of FAITH.” – Kevin "WAK" Williams

The Worst Sight by WAK is an art print that captures the image and essence of what must have been the Worst Sight ever seen at that time to those of African descent. A proud and majestic African King stands on the shore off the coast of Africa. As he gazes out upon the Atlantic Ocean, his eye tears up as he is overcorme by a feeling of sadness and rage as the Slave Ship approaches the motherland. He sees and feels the evil in the air.
