Black Marriage Day
A lot of people may not be aware of it, but, March 30, 2008 is Black Marriage Day. A day for married couples to renew their vows and their commitment. It’s a great event for the African American community where marriage rates are at an all time low. Please visit this site: Black Marriage Day and find a location celebrating the occasion near you. If you can’t find an event near you then maybe you can host an event or have your church, social organization, school, fraternity or sorority chapter host an event.
Since we specialize in Black Art, I was trying to think of three pictures that best reflect and/or represent African American marriage or weddings.
